First Annual Rocky Mountain Olympus Leather Competition Schedule

POST DATED.

APRIL 10, 2010

For some reason this did not post to my blog.

On April 7, 2010 Mike and I left OC with Julie Newmar at the helm of my trusty blue beast of a car. By 7 pm we were in Vegas and enjoying the evening together, penny slots and drinks on the house. He had not seen the "Fremont Experience" so we walked Fremont and "experienced" it. The KISS Experience was pretty retarded, so we headed back in for a second round of drinks, then back up to the room for Leno and sleep.

Guided by the lovely Ms. Newmar, we headed north on our leather pilgrimage to Salt Lake, finding ourselves arriving with only minutes to refresh ourselves, change and head out to a class at PATH on impact toys and tools or "slappy things". What great fun as we were welcomed by old friends and new ones. The instructor did not disappoint with an engaging, informative, and entertaining class on the various dangers and hazards as well as the NUMEROUS implements that can be used to slap a partner.

Friday was spent running about picking up Mistress Cyan, Genesis, and Dave Rhodes of the leather Journal, then preparing for the silent auction and Rocky Mountain Meet and Greet. All the while guided by the shining beacon of Miss Julie. Try as I might I just could not for the life of me channel her gentle loving prowess as I faced down the albeit, neutral in words, biased in action bitch at the Michael framing counter in Salt Lake City. Rawr.

After much toodoo Mike and I made our way back to our host's home in time to change and get to Club Edge where the meet and greet was to occur. All SIX contestants showed up on time and looking fabulous, some as always it seems to be were more outgoing than others, however, they each brought a distinctly unique flavor to the event. Contestants unknowingly vied for competition numbers during a jeopardy like quiz round complete with BDSM Pride colored Glitter stars. You all KNOW how much leather-men LOVE glitter. An astounding success, the crowd and judges got to see a side of the contestants in the light hearted competition that they might not otherwise have seen. Kudos to Andrew Love for the creative methods employed during this fun filled cocktail event.

The next morning came quite early for the producers and contestants as we made our way back to Club Edge, who GRACIOUSLY allowed us to use their venue for the contestant interviews. Back to the house for a quick shower and grabing of the evenings garb and we were back to the club. The event itself went off without a single hitch and I have to say this for the millionth time Andrew put on ONE HELL OF A SHOW! Entertaining, engaging and constant motion.

Congratulations to my dear friend Utah Rox and New friend the HAWT Sythen!
